Would this be a per session or a per connection value?  It isnt' all
that clear what component(s) of the system are being identified, but
depending on the answer, the values might not be the same for all
connections. 

If the system uses HBAs, would this key describe the HBA, or the host?
(Or both?)

Nit: "MAY NOT" should be "may not".
